Claim Clear is an Envato feature that helps simplify YouTube copyright claims when using Claim Clear ready music.
When you upload a video to YouTube, its Content ID system checks the audio against a database of registered music. If it finds a match, YouTube may place a copyright claim on the video. Receiving a copyright claim doesn't mean you've done anything wrong. YouTube's Content ID system automatically checks music usage to help artists and rights holders protect their work. If you have permission to use the music, the claim can be cleared.
Claim Clear makes this process even simpler. Start by downloading a Claim Clear ready track, then either:
If you're using a track that isn't Claim Clear ready, you can still resolve any copyright claims manually through YouTube using your Envato licence.
Safelisting your YouTube channel is the easiest way to use Claim Clear.
Once your channel is approved, eligible copyright claims on future videos using Claim Clear ready music are automatically cleared, so you don't need to submit each video individually.
We recommend safelisting your channel if you regularly publish content to a YouTube channel that you own or manage.
If you're creating videos for clients or can't safelist the YouTube channel, you can use the individual video clearance tool instead.
Once a YouTube Content ID claim appears, simply submit the public or unlisted YouTube video URL through the Claim Clear dashboard. If the video uses Claim Clear ready music, we'll process the eligible claim through Envato, typically within a few minutes.
If a track isn't Claim Clear ready, it can't be cleared automatically or directly through Claim Clear.
You can still use the track on YouTube under your Envato license.
